Mobile Library of the Municipal
Center for History and Documentation
A mobile library operates
every year at the Alykes seashore in the context of the
Municipal Center for History and Documentation's summer
activities.
This intervention constitutes a coordinated effort to promote
reading and books in the distant city neighborhoods, especially
during the summer indolence that allows but also prescribes
reading a good book beside the waves.
The Mobile Library collection, enriched with new book circulations,
consists of Greek and foreign literature book titles, general
knowledge books, history books and books on various subjects
in various foreign languages.
From the beginning of July till the middle of August, adults
and children, inhabitants and visitors of Alykes will be
able to choose from a total of more than 2000 books, so
as to combine swimming and relaxation moments with reading.
Members can borrow 2 books for 15 days. Everyone can become
a member of the library, free of charge, providing an identification
card or any other document that certifies his or her identity.
Books are returned to the Mobile Library or to the DIKI
offices at Spirer Building (Mikrasiaton 81, tel: 2421039644,
diki@diki.gr, www.diki.gr) during operating hours.
